The
area around Åsen i characterised by beauty,
light and dark colours, open air, quietness and tranquillity.
Åsen is at place where you can reach your personal
quest. Åsen is situated in the "Jyske Ås",
a hilly country site traversed by streams, with scattered
groves, heather, stretches of meadow land, bogs and
moors.. Even though the driving distance to the best
beaches of Denmark is less than half an hour Jyske
Ås is unaffected by tourism; a beautiful landscape
perfectly suited for walking tours and meditation.
Or for bicycle rides by narrow bent paths and gravel
roads with access to primitive camping sites, some
equipped with bivouacs. |

The
Theatre of Åsen
- professional theatre, education and training
Åsen offers theatre training
and education and workshops of various duration. Courses
can be designed as to needs, and theatre camps can
be arranged as well. Examples of possible topies may
be "Man at play", "We play the leading
parts", "Body language" or "The
story of the mask". Theatre is seen as the dress
rehearsal of whatever you haven't experienced in life
so far. Imagine being able to try out thoroughly possible
roles. Did i choose the right one? What would happen
if..? Theatre is an expression, too. At The theatre
the general is reflected in the specific. That is
why we emphasise attaining to an actual performance.

Prize
of Hope
The Prize of Hope is given to
an individual or theatre who has worked for the hope
of humanity; daring, loving, vulgar, serious, poetic
- a flash of energy directed against habitual ways
of thinking, which are the greatest threat to our
culture – for a world in which people use their own
eyes, ears, and voice!
The Prize of Hope has been given in Denmark since
1989. The Prize of Hope is now awarded every second
year in Denmark at Aasen Institute and every second
year at Dell´Arte in California.
The Prize of Hope in Denmark is a work of art, created
with special reference to the prize-winner by the
mask artist Klaus Tams.
