       Trevor Davies 1989. Festival of Fools, Copenhagen, Denmark For creating a popular space for theatre and the Festival of Fools, as a cultural mediator and "pile driver".

  
       Aleksander Jochwed 1990. Teaterværkstedet Den Blå Hest, Århus, Denmark. Because the theatre breaks down walls in the mind and between east and west.

   
       Tage Hind 1991. Institut for Dramaturgi , Århus Universitet, Danmark. For being a pioneer in the establishment of a new view on theatre and founder of Institut for Dramaturgi at the University of Aarhus.

  
       Iben Nagel Rasmussen 1992. Odin Teatret, Holstebro, Denmark. For being a pioneer of new acting in Denmark and for the performance ITSI BITSI.

   
       Arne Aabenhus & Asger Hulgaard 1994. Dansk Amatør Teater Samvirke. For founding and forming Dansk Amatør Teater Samvirke (Danish Amateur Theatre Cooperation) for a lifetime.

    
       Hans Hellberg 1995. Narren, Stokholm. Sweden. Founder of group theatre in the Nordic countries and its first important architect.

  
       Hans Rønne 1996. Teatret, Odder. Danmark. For his solo performances as a distinguished mark of Danish childrens' and youth theatre in the year of the cultural city.

  
       Grenland Friteater 1997, Porsgrunn. Norway. For twenty years of pioneering in group theatre in Norway - in a continuous search for identity in the modern post-war Norway.

  
       Chris Torch 1998. Intercult Stockholm. Sweden. Founder of Earth Circus & Shikaste. A pioneer in intercultural scenic art in Sweden, the Nordic countries and Europe.

  
       Randi Patterson 1999, Living Movement & Nyt Dansk Danseteater. Founder and pioneer in modern dance in Denmark.

  
       Åsa Simma 2000, Samic theatre and film. Sameland. Through her art, she awakes resources hidden the rituals and images of samic culture's ancient mountains.

  
       Klaus Hoffmeyer 2001, Artistic director at Det Kongelige Teater. Denmark. For preserving his core intact whether at the student scene or the royal theatre of Denmark.

  
       Helle Ryslinge 2002, film director, København. Denmark. For pioneer work within Danish film, with microscopic presence uncovering the taboos of society.

  
       Bådteatret 2003, in presence of its captains Tue Biering, Rolf Heim og Emil Korf-Hansen. Denmark. In spite of financial cuts, they insist on performing political theatre of our day and time.

  
       Finn Hesselager 2004. Denmark. For his significant contribution to the life experienced by Danish theatres, television and film, through his teaching of an entire generation of Danish actors.

  
 

Dell' Arte International 2005. Far up in the North of California's Redwood district they have created a physical theatreschool of international standard, attracting students from all over the world.

  Set-designer Poul Fly Plejdrup 2007. For his magical open theatre. The open theatre is the space of the living theatre and the theatre of hope.

  
  Tim Robbins og The Actors' Gang received the Prize of Hope 2008 for the courage of their art to stand up against the wind. The event was hosted by Dell'Arte International in Blue Lake in California at June 21, 2008.

  Suzanne Osten received the Prize of Hope 2009 because she has worked with theatre from the perspective of the child and other exposed groups her entire life. She is partly responsible that Scandinavian child- and youth theatre is among the best in the world.
  David Simpson, Jane Lapiner and Human Nature 2010, Petrolia, USA received Prize of Hope 2010 because they have created original theatre Pieces about important environmental issues and connected to local to the international through their original theatre about climate change.
